I have wondered.. How can God love me so much?
I was reading,
Psalm 37:3-7 (AMP)
3 Trust (lean on, rely on, and be confident) in the Lord and do good; so shall you dwell in the land and feed surely on His faithfulness, and truly you shall be fed.
4 Delight yourself also in the Lord, and He will give you the desires and secret petitions of your heart.
5 Commit your way to the Lord [roll and repose each care of your load on Him]; trust (lean on, rely on, and be confident) also in Him and He will bring it to pass.
6 And He will make your uprightness and right standing with God go forth as the light, and your justice and right as [the shining sun of] the noonday.
7 Be still and rest in the Lord; wait for Him and patiently lean yourself upon Him; fret not yourself because of him who prospers in his way, because of the man who brings wicked devices to pass.
As I read this verse I asked the Lord how can I trust you like this? How do I delight myself in you?
Delight – N. a high degree of pleasure or enjoyment; joy; rapture:
Pleasure – (webster)N. Cheer, comfort, delight, enjoyment, exhilaration, joy, gladness, gratification, gratifying, gusto, satisfaction, solace, amusement, indulgence, refreshment, treat, choice, desire, preference, purpose, will, wish, favor.
This is how you delight yourself in the Lord. You desire, choose, indulge, make Him your preference. You make Him your everything! Because You want to, Because He loves You.
After this the Lord showed me why I’d want to feel all these things toward Him, and why He feels these things toward us.
I Love my children unconditionally… I’d do anything for them. I protect them, I feed them, I clothe them, I watch them, I teach them, I discipline them to protect them. There is nothing they could ever do to make me love them anymore, or any less then I do right now. They can’t earn my love, and they can’t push my love away. I would die for them…
I had my answer right in front of me. But Gods love is ultimately greater. He not only sent His Son, but Jesus our Savior died for us! His love isn’t limited by conditions. He doesn’t make mistakes, He doesn’t get tired or distracted, He isn’t human and is not able to make human mistakes. Jesus was tested just the same, but He never gave in. HIs love is perfect and flawless.
He is our Father with endless supplies, endless patience, endless love. always standing by
The Bible says.
Isaiah 30:18 (AMP)
18 And therefore the Lord [earnestly] waits [expecting, looking, and longing] to be gracious to you; and therefore He lifts Himself up, that He may have mercy on you and show loving-kindness to you. For the Lord is a God of justice. Blessed (happy, fortunate, to be envied) are all those who [earnestly] wait for Him, who expect and look and long for Him [for His victory, His favor, His love, His peace, His joy, and His matchless, unbroken companionship]!
He is so hungry for us to stop fighting His love and just accept it. You can’t earn His love… You can’t push Him away, you can’t hide from Him. And in the end after you’re exhausted from fighting and pushing Him away, and trying to do it your way. He’s still there patiently waiting for you to except His love and kindness.
He is SO merciful, SO encouraging, SO good to us, SO gracious, SO protective.
You aren’t going to earn His Love and the secret is this. No matter what you’ve done, what you’re doing, or what you will do. He is NEVER going to love you anymore or any less then He loves you right now, in this moment. Which is in fact unconditional!
Is that not amazing!?
And if the Lord has corrected you, that absolutely does NOT mean He doesn’t love you.
Proverbs 3:12 (AMP)
12 For whom the Lord loves He corrects, even as a father corrects the son in whom he delights.
Hebrews 12:6 (AMP)
6 For the Lord corrects and disciplines everyone whom He loves, and He punishes, even scourges, every son whom He accepts and welcomes to His heart and cherishes.
Even while correcting you, He still loves you! He is just doing what a Father is suppose to do.
God is amazing! I laugh when I think “God is my Father… and He loves me as I am” I can finally accept His love and be willing to be the best I can be, because He loves me. The Creator of the Universe, of all creation Loves ME! He Loves YOU!
He is your Father and He loves YOU. Just the same. UNCONDITIONALLY!
It’s time to accept You cannot earn His love, even while we were sinners, He died for us. Yesterday, today and tomorrow His love remains the same.
The choice is yours, but remember, no matter what your choose, He’s still waiting, Still loving unconditionally.
- Are you ready to accept His love as it truly is? Unconditional.
- Are you ready to call Him Father, treat Him in the roll of Father?
- Are you ready to fill that God shaped hole, no one can?
