Conviction and Condemnation…

Conviction -n 2. The act of convicting someone, as in a court of law; a declaration that a person is guilty of an offense.

Condemnation – n. 2 The state of being condemned. 3. strong censure(to criticize, disapprove); disapprobation(disapproval); reproof(the act of reproving, censuring, or rebuking)-(to express sharp, stern disapproval of).

Disapprove -v. 2. to withhold approval from; decline to sanction.  -v to have unfavorable opinion.

These definitions are very important I believe to start with.

When ever you have said something hurtful to a person you love/anyone, or took a pen from work, or maybe used the last of something and didn’t replace it and felt it was wrong, but pushed it to the back of your mind and went on, or maybe you felt stronly you needed to apologize to someone but let you pride win, but still  you had this heavy weight on your mind and heart, about the subject.

That was The Holy Spirit convicting you. Making you aware of an offense you committed, or it was Him telling you, what you’ve done has offended His Spirit. He convicts us, so you can either, stop and make it right, stop before you do something to offend Him, or stop and ask for forgiveness for an offense. Having clear conscience is very important to the Lord.

Conviction and Conscience
2 Timothy 3:16 (AMP)
16  Every Scripture is God-breathed (given by His inspiration) and profitable for instruction, for reproof and conviction of sin, for correction of error and discipline in obedience, [and] for training in righteousness (in holy living, in conformity to God’s will in thought, purpose, and action),

Hebrews 10:22 (AMP)
22  Let us all come forward and draw near with true (honest and sincere) hearts in unqualified assurance and absolute conviction engendered by faith (by that leaning of the entire human personality on God in absolute trust and confidence in His power, wisdom, and goodness), having our hearts sprinkled and purified from a guilty (evil) conscience and our bodies cleansed with pure water.

Hebrews 13:18 (AMP)

18  Keep praying for us, for we are convinced that we have a good (clear) conscience, that we want to walk uprightly and live a noble life, acting honorably and in complete honesty in all things.

Once we ask for sincere forgiveness. That’s it we’re forgiven, you don’t have to feel guilty, and keep thinking about it and reasking for forgiveness or think about it tomorrow or a month or even a year about it, or start feeling guilty and ask for forgiveness again. You learned, were forgiven and need to move past it.

You don’t have to live condemned

Isaiah 6:7 (AMP)

7  And with it, he touched my mouth and said, Behold, this has touched your lips; your iniquity and guilt are taken away, and your sin is completely atoned for and forgiven.

Acts 8:22 (AMP)
22  So repent of this depravity and wickedness of yours and pray to the Lord that, if possible, this contriving thought and purpose of your heart may be removed and disregarded and forgiven you.

Whenever you are forgiven but wouldn’t let it go. That is the devil condemning you. The devil wants to keep reminding you of your mistakes and past sins, and disobedience you may have committed against the Lord. Satan wants you to feel like God disapproves of you always and feel completely unworthy of Gods Love. We are unworthy, but through Christ Jesus, we were made Holy in the presence of God.

1 Peter 2:24 (AMP)

24  He personally bore our sins in His [own] body on the tree [as on an altar and offered Himself on it], that we might die (cease to exist) to sin and live to righteousness. By His wounds, you have been healed.

Hebrews 8:12 (AMP)

12  For I will be merciful and gracious toward their sins and I will remember their deeds of unrighteousness no more.

1 John 1:9 (AMP)

9  If we [freely] admit that we have sinned and confess our sins, He is faithful and just (true to His own nature and promises) and will forgive our sins [dismiss our lawlessness] and [continuously] cleanse us from all unrighteousness [everything not in conformity to His will in purpose, thought, and action].
Every day we are going to offend God or man in some way, shape, or form.
But Thank God He is merciful. His mercies are new every day.
Lamentations 3:22-24 (AMP)
22  It is because of the Lord’s mercy and loving-kindness that we are not consumed, because His [tender] compassions fail not.
23  They are new every morning; great and abundant is Your stability and faithfulness.

He completely  understands us.

Hebrews 4:15 (AMP)
15  For we do not have a High Priest Who is unable to understand and sympathize and have a shared feeling with our weaknesses and infirmities and liability to the assaults of temptation, but One Who has been tempted in every respect as we are, yet without sinning.

Don’t give the devil the authority over you to make you feel condemned. If you listened to the leading of the Holy Spirit, that conviction. and ask for forgiveness. Even if it’s something big. It is not bigger than the creator of the universe. He was not surprised when you did it. He wanted you in Heaven, He wanted you when you were born, He wants you now, and He still wants your future. He loves you, and there is nothing, you have done, or will ever do to change His mind. God will never love you anymore, or any less than He does right now!.

For God so loved the world. He loved you so much, He knew you’d sin, and wanted to be able to forgive you immediately, to keep you holy in His presence. To keep fellowship with you, to stay living inside you. He died on that cross for YOU.

He did not die on that cross for you to hang on to guilt and condemnation. but for you to live life to the fullest, whereas satan wants to steal your joy and peace, and keep you miserable.

John 10:10 (AMP)

10  The thief comes only in order to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have and enjoy life, and have it in abundance (to the full, till it overflows).

You do not have to live under condemnation anymore. Please let the Holy Spirit convict you, listen to Him, make it right and move on. keep learning and growing, and trust His judgment. Live the life He meant for you to have. Know He Loves YOU…

  • Are you ready to be free from that guilt and condemnation?
  • Are you ready to follow The Lords Conviction so you can grow?
  • Are YOU ready to just accept His unconditional Love for you, in this moment?

S-E-L-E-H (pause and calmly think about that)

  1. A conviction is also a strongly held belief. When the Holy Spirit convicts us, He is helping us to believe and understand where we have gone wrong. Sometimes we take some convincing!
